Make everyone in Ventrilo the same volume
Oct 30, 2009 Engineering
We’ve all been there. The one asshole in Vent that blasts us with machine-gun like volume. His laughter blows your speakers and his plosives and sibilance are CIA-approved torture techniques. Or the worst case scenario: The unstable audio connection that sends shock waves of static bursts that make you impulsively throw your headphones across the room. He can’t control it because he’s a savage. But that doesn’t mean you have to put up with it! Follow these nine steps and everyone will be the same volume!
1.) Click on Setup
2.) Put a check in “Use DirectSound” and set your Output device to “Default DirectSound device”
3.) Click on SFX
4.) Click on “Sound Effects” in the Type region.
5.) In the “Availible” list, select “Compressor”
6.) Click on “<- Add”
7.) In the “Current” list, select “Compressor”
8.) Click on Properties
9.) Make your Compressor Properties match this picture:
If the volume is still too low, increase the Gain in the Compressor Properties. (Some servers have their own audio quality, transmission settings, and effects. Adjust the gain accordingly.)

Mike Omni – Provocative Dreams
Oct 29, 2009 Audio, Mike Omni, Soundtrack
Mike Omni - Provocative DreamsMike Omni’s “Provocative Dreams” revolves in phases; from hopeful to yearning to triumphant and back again. The Fender Rhodes MKII beds the whole track and teeters between beauty and cacophony. The Ovation acoustic evokes a sense of loss and determination at the leading behest of a fat-bottomed Ocean one-piece bass.

Mike Omni – Slipping Away
Oct 27, 2009 Audio, Classical, Mike Omni, Soundtrack
Mike Omni - Slipping AwayA beautiful concert grand weaves melancholy within an eerie atmosphere in this piano solo from Mike Omni. What starts with mourning crescendos into a powerful piece that sings of hope only to reiterate that the hard part is still ahead.

Mike Omni – The Sun Sets Again
Oct 26, 2009 Audio, Drum & Bass, Electronica, Mike Omni
Mike Omni - The Sun Sets AgainCrank up your bass to eleven and get ready as Mike dusts off his vocal cords (and vocoder) for this high-energy Drum & Bass banger. With a bottom end fatter than Christopher Wallace, a head full of screaming saw synths and lyrics straight out of William Gibson’s Neuromancer, this one is sure to please the scary little caffeinated child in all of you.

Mike Omni – The Days Get Darker
Oct 23, 2009 Audio, Jazz, Mike Omni, R&B, Rock
Mike Omni - The Days Get DarkerThe stars of this Mike Omni piece are the dueling harmonies from his beautiful one-piece Ocean bass. While the two movements compete for your affection, the Les Paul Classic trickles notes onto you just like Jimmies on soft serve. The Fender Roads MKII, a Mike Omni favorite, breathes heavenly life under the composition.

Vincent dePaul – Civilian
Oct 21, 2009 Audio, Critical Mass, Urban, Vincent dePaul
Vincent dePaul - CivilianThe melancholy of Viktomajarmo’s composition drove my pessimistic vitriol outward. As you can tell, I have little faith in my generation to do anything worthy of merit.
