Who would ever think a djembe and a piano would be so somber together?  The two play off each other until the orchestral hit locks the listener down.  The drum work is smooth and mellow to give the emotion a place to breathe.  Yet another beautifully crafted piece of piano work by Mike Omni.

I posted a request in a forum I frequent to tell me what composition to make.  They gave me the key, the tempo, the lead instrument, and the mood they wanted.  Three hours later, this tense sounding piece was the result.

Mike Omni’s “Provocative Dreams” revolves in phases; from hopeful to yearning to triumphant and back again.  The Fender Rhodes MKII beds the whole track and teeters between beauty and cacophony.  The Ovation acoustic evokes a sense of loss and determination at the leading behest of a fat-bottomed Ocean one-piece bass.
